Ramses (Madrid) Rarely have I felt need to go so quickly to my computer to write on my blog like last night. We visited the kitchen of the new Ramses. This is a new leisure space that is part of the new Hospes hotel in the Plaza de la Independencia, a big local, P.-style Starck, consisting of a cocktail bar below, a restaurant on the top floor (they call bistro) and a tapas bar (called petit) and cocktail bar at street level. This "petit" is the one that had the misfortune to meet last night. Environment
modern design, but nice. Public cool. The food however, as we shall see, the worst they have ever known. We peck. We started with a salad wild asparagus, arugula, pine nuts and parmesan. Right. Rich parmesan crisp cookies that accompanied it. We still have a foie micuit with sherry reduction. Infumable! Then, eggplant and cheese croquettes, which arrived cold, with a compact mass that made them inedible.
One of the special recommendations of the house, the green curry mussels, we let them directly. Half dry and distant past, the other half raw. To make matters worse, the sauce without binding. Horrible.
As entrees, a seafood and two meat. First, a soft shell crab tempura. Salt, no flavor. Then Iberian pork. No one could eat it. I knew most liver (liver was not sure?) Than anything else, and seemed a shoe sole. Finally, two skewers of steak and mushrooms, probably the best of the dinner, thanks to the mushrooms.
For dessert, a frozen yogurt with fruit sauce, which was not ice cream, yogurt but without any sugar, sprinkled with muesli, and a three-chocolate mousse, correct.
good service. The price ... the truth, I felt cheated ...
